the other day I came across a Kirby 12 volt car vac. I cant recall wht it was called does anyone remember the name what model of Kirby it was sold with and if it was of Kirby quality

You're referring to the Split Second. That was like Black & Decker's trendsetting Dustbuster. It was seen with the Heritage II in promotional material.
