I arrived in North Canton, Ohio early this afternoon. I was just here before the convention, but it was all so rushed. First on the list was a trip to Ed Shenkle's (Morrison's Vacuum Shop". I picked up a few Hoover items, (NOS lenses for "Convertible", NOS vinyl outer bag, NOS attachments, etc. Of course, we went around our famed beloved building. Tomorrow, it's on to The HOOVER Historical Center, (I understand Ann Haines has a job for me to do tomorrow) YAY! THen, on to Mr. Dick Pike's for a visit and, I believe, some special HOOVER goodies. The MADNESS HAS BEGUN!!!!!

Where is my orange Hoover hood? I've been waiting for it for almost a year. I would really like to have it to replace my bad one. I hope I don't sound rude or impatient. I love you're collection and the sign too. Please get back to me.

Well, today,

We went thrifting, then on to The HOOVER Historical Center. Hallie was working there today. I haven't seen her since the Christmas festivities . Ann Haines had some things for me to do. It was great to volunteer there again. Here I am working on papers for the Main Street Festival.

Of course then,

gottahaveahoove's profile picture
we HAD to clean the place before we went home. Two men arrived, (one from St Louis) came for a tour.
they had a great time as well. Tom cleaned the first floor, while I did the second floor. My choice of vacuum was, naturally a HOOVER Commercial Upright. "All the dirt, all the grit, HOOVER got it, every bit".

This evening, Tom and I went to visit the Pikes.

gottahaveahoove's profile picture
We talked and talked and talked about everything. Dick truly lives and breathes HOOVER. He is always terribly kind. He gifted me some wonderful things. He found an old postcard. I asked him to sign it for me. He said he wanted to write something on it first. God knows what that'll be! I also managed to purchase a few things. YAY! They are in the car already. i MAY (next time), replace 2 cleaners at home with vault cleaners. THen, I'll sell the 2 at home.
Tomorrow, we're off again. Oh. we met Jane at the restaurant. Tom and I both had HOOVER T-shirts on. People were whispering… (not the first time for THAT).
It really is wonderful to have access to all of theses great machines. You know, years ago, when a family was able to purchase a HOOVER (upright OR canister) they were thought to be quite affluent. They'd say, "Oh, I got a HOOVER". THEN, you really were "there" if you had a vacuum for each floor . As the slogan goes. "HOOVER.For Homes With People Who Care". Kinda like Hallmark. "When you care to send the very best. NOT bashing. (do I bash?). Everyone knows HOOVER was 'quality".I'd think, if you were really affluent, you bought "DELUXE TOOLS".

Midnight... tere were three very bad storms.... we all had to pull over for a bit. Then, 2 merge ramps slowed things down. It was wonderful to be there. Now to empty the car, feed the kitties, then off to bed. I'll post more pics soon.

No Fair!

I had made plans to visit the HOOVER Historical Center right before the convention, but with the car breaking down in Medina, OH, that didn't happen. It was a wonder we made it to the hotel on the right day!

Beautiful is right! The next time I'm in Ohio, I will definitely visit the Holy Land.

I've just been listening to Coast to Coast AM, and apparently Ohio is having some really bad issues with water. They say that Lake Erie is contaminated with algae and it's making people sick. Cases of bottled water are selling for $25.00 a case!

I think I'd be more concerned about seeing that Dyson in a HOOVER vac store. But, it's neither my Dyson NOR my vac shop. I also get plenty of vitamin C.

In defense of the Hoover store, that Dyson was abandoned in favor of a HOOVER Platinum Series corded stick vac. It's sitting in the corner awaiting the next visit from the scrap collector man.

Yes I agree with John Dan and please don't post phone numbers in the threads. If the spammers get a hold of it, and they usually do if it's posted on the internet, it could cause many issues for the owner of that number.

Not to really add 2 cents but I feel it is not really appropriate that every post that I see from certain people they say over and over and over and over again the name city and state of said business with phone numbers and all sorts of things to antagonize people. I'm sorry to hack the post but it is so damn annoying hence why I hardly post here anymore. I will admit that I love the site but some of the people are still stuck in their high school days!

It's great to see you in here. I was hoping to host a summer mini meet. However, the summer seems to be running away from me/us. This weekend, I'm cooking at our church festival, next week, aunt stuff. before you know it, it'll be Fall. We'll just have to settle for the Monster Mash Bash, #3.. in October. More info on that later. Hope all is well with you. And, thanks for the kind words and support. In the BIG PICTURE, this stuff is just 'bubblegum'.

Hello John.

It was good talking with you the other day. I'm glad that it was a model (Hoover) that you didn't have in your possession (collection) yet!!!

You are more than welcome. It went to a great person. (imho)

I know you've built up a 'tolerance' with having sooo many of 'them' (Hoovers); however, just in case, you may still want to wear the 'gloves' as it's NOT a Kirby! (~lol~)

Cheers & hagd/n all,

Bill
