Hi my name is Ben and I'm an avid collector and also a vacuum salesman. I recently have listed one of my personal collection pieces for sale on eBay, and I must say she is a beauty. I still have to add some more photos to the description area but I figured rather than my regular 5 days I'll do 7 and get it up there asap.

Hi,

Hi Benjamin, That's a great looking Kirby there. You have done a great job restoring it. I'm sure you will find another collector that will want to take it off your hands and give it a new home.

That is indeed a beautifully restored 560. With all the accessories, it's a real show stopper!

WOW, that really is a beauty, Ben! I love the photo where you laid out the accessories just as they appear in the instruction booklet. Very nice touch! I hope it finds a loving and deserving home.

That's just GRAND, Ben! If there's such a thing as "Kirby Royalty" the Model 560 pictured above is it! Congratulations on your handiwork.

I do wonder if the "Motor Driven Floor Polisher" served a triple purpose along with scrubbing and shampooing? Otherwise, are the Miracle Head and the Rug Renovator missing? My Kirby knowledge is limited.

Ronni, the Rug-Renovator was not introduced until the model Dual-Sanitronic 50! tongue-out

The motor-driven brush is the same as the miracle-head, there was no shampooing until the Rug-Renovator. You might be able to use the motor-driven brush for shampooing when combined with the sprayer, but kirby had no dry-foam products at the time, and there would be no place but the bag for collected suds to reside.

That 560 is a true beauty, somebody is going to get lucky and bring that thing home!

Much obliged, Alex.

It would seem to me, then, that the term "Miracle Head" began with the introduction of the "Rug Renovator". I believe that I read on another thread--if memory serves--that the floor restorers' names were changed in 1980; although I don't recall them.

The early- to mid-'60s seems to have been the period in which larger-scale carpet cleaning machines/attachments were launched with the growing popularity of wall-to-wall carpeting. Manual and smaller scale automatic methods had been used prior to that.

thank you

Thank you all for the kind word I do truly treat these machines like my children(if I had any). I take pride inmy collection and anything i sell or auction and truly hope it shows. I can only hope that the future owner loves this machine as much as I do.I refuse to accept anything but perfection from myself. As I complete other machines for auction or my personal collection i will try to get pictures on here. Thenext machine you'll be seeing is a Kirby 510 I'm working on and almost done with.
