Just to prove that I'm not all about vintage Kirby, I present this recent Ebay find! I've been wanting one of these for a long time. Thanks to a tip from Rick Asquith, I scored! Other than the beat up brush roll, it is very good condition.

Made in China?

I haven't yet discovered where it is made. But I'm sure it comes from China or (most likely) Mexico.

While the F&G bag system was a great advance back in the day, I felt compelled to upgrade to the ST bag system and its advanced filtration.

Brush Roll

The brush roll was beat up, so I installed a VGII model. I really like the way it grooms the carpet.

As much as I love my Kirbys, it's hard to beat the old Eureka uprights!

Congrats!

Glad you're the one who won it, especially since it was on your wish list! It looks to be in great condition too. Those ST conversions are great, have a couple on mine as well. I would guess Mexico, if that's where the Sanitaires are coming from. I want to say these came out about '05 or '06, but not sure. I think someone had one of those at the '06 convention here in St. Louis, IIRC. Enjoy!

Those came out in 2003, I think! If only they still made this, all we have now is the 1934A for household F&G-ness! You've gotta love that bag!tongue-out

From what I can glean, Eureka stopped production of the Retrovac in 2005. Not a very long production run.
