What years was this model produced. Anyone have any info or literature about them?

Memories...

This was the first square hood non-headlight Convertible, production from 2/67-12/68. The colors were spring green with seal griege trim and cords. My folks bought one when we had new wall-to-wall carpet installed, which had a loop type pile. Our Kirby 505 had divided baseplate in the center, and it caught on the loops. They didn't want to invest in a new Kirby, just used it elsewhere. There was a department store in my hometown where we bought the Hoover for $48.88, and a new lawn mower for the same price I believe, the same day. It's odd how I can remember that day like it was yesterday, but it was a big deal, as I would be the primary user of both the vacuum and the mower, and I was excited! I remember my mom saying she bought a new vacuum and a lawn mower for less than the price of a new Kirby..lol..oh well.
