It looks like it's from before 1976, because it does not have air vents. I also think it's a household vacuum because the bag has the 2 screws you attach to the base. And it has edge cleaner. I've never heard of the model 1426A before, so I am wondering what year it's from.

Hard to say without seeing a picture.

The Edge Kleener notches on the soleplate were introduced in 1974. But by 1976, all F&G bagged Eureka uprights in the 1400 series had air vents on the motor hood. So these factors might narrow it down to 1974 or 1975, right after Sweden's Electrolux bought Eureka.

It is domestic for sure. Look at the bag. It has the 2 screws that you attach to the base.

A friend of mine has the exact same machine. she got it at otasco in 1974 for a wedding gift.from her parents new she thinks it cost 49.00 or in that price range.
