In spite of all the recent power regulations change, I am pleased to say that Hotpoint have done something about it.

Their website - www.hotpoint.co.uk/products/-/pro... - still shows them to be using 2000W of power, but this clip -

- mentions they now use 450 watts of power, a step in the right direction, and kudos to Hotpoint for doing so. I'm not sure, but is 450 watts the lowest now? I know Miele use 700 watts but not sure about the others.

The cylinder models look slightly different, but that's just probably the colour scheme.

Also, look out for the stick-vac at the end of the clip. Looks very streamlined, but I wouldn't expect it to be the best at cleaning as it only has a suction head, not a brushroll.

Thanks

Jacob

Um, well, not exactly.

The 450 watts of power is 450 air watts of suction power - none of Hotpoint vacs are currently low Eco powered. It may come but on the basis that Hotpoint only launched in the UK a few months ago after being SO LATE to market, I doubt they will be early to market with Eco vacs.

Well...

...why did Hotpoint confuse airwatts - which is normally written as 'AW', instead of 'W', it's my own fault for not realising the difference.

Sorry.

Well Jacob, suction power does not mean total motor power.

I also enquired about that stick vac ages ago from Hotpoint UK but they fobbed me off saying it was a steam mop, which it clearly isn't. Sadly Hotpoint are a bit like Hoover UK - they are only informed from their respective Italian owners as to what possible ranges are being offered.

Yeah, it means that they have 450 Air Watts, that's from the Extreme Clean 2400w motor. Like mine says on it that it uses 350w but then says that it's 2200w, so 2200w - 350AW. But yes it is confusing.

I know. Normally the motor wattage is too high, and I normally look for the AW not the wattages, as most of them are absurdly high.
