Hi. I LOVE the Kirby Dual Sanitronic 80. It probably has to be one of the most beautiful cleaners I've ever seen, I would LOVE to own one- The problem is, I live in England, not New England, regular England, in Europe. Is there any hope at all in me owning one of these splendid machines? I mean, if I got one imported from the US it wouldn't be able to run in the UK. Is there a way I could get round the voltage difference? And would I ever even be able to get the vacuum in the first place?

Although, I'd happily settle for a DS 50 instead.

a US spec kirby merely required a step down voltage transformer and they are cheap an readily available in the UK. Now you just have to find and import one. I don't know all of Kirby's history in the UK but there should be something there from the same vintage.

I had a D80 for a few years, now in the safe hands of Turbo500. If you were to get one you will need a step down transformer. These are pretty easy to get, look on Ebay or your local building suppliers.

They really are lovely vacuums to use ( if you don't mind the shake out bag ). Lighter and quieter than more modern Kirby's, almost like a Kirby "Junior" .

Keep looking on ebay as the occasionally pop up, I was lucky and bought mine from a collector in the UK. Sadly for the last couple of years it just sat in a cupboard and gathered dust. As I said, now in the safe hands of Turbo500 who will get more use out of it than I did.
