I picked up this Hoover Convertible Deluxe the other day at a local thrift store. I could hear it whimpering as soon as I walked through the door. I walked over to it and couldn't resist taking it home. So in the back seat it went to its forever home. The poor thing was filthy and had wire and threads wrapped around the impeller shaft. I'm sure that's probably why it ended up there. Here are the before pics:

It almost looks like new. It runs strong and sounds good. Best of all: It Beats, As It Sweeps, As It Cleans!!!

Very nice. Look how it cleaned up! It's funny how sometimes you can hear them calling your name.

I did hear it, I swear. I walked over to it like I already knew it was there.

I had to go to lowes to get a15w bulb because the 25w was causing the lense to warp from the heat

Looks great all spiffed up--nice job! You should paint your nails that teal color or wear something teal and have your photo taken with it. I believe another Vacuumlander did that at one time.

It's always good to see a vintage cleaner that has been abused all cleaned and polished once again. Will you be doing anything with the motor?

The really great ones always whisper...Beckoning you towards their hiding place. I must say, everything looks quite lovely. That's one wonderful transformation!

It always feels good saving a great classic like that.
