I found this eureka 2048 A at the flea market and it was in poor shape, it had the original vinyl outer bag that was torn to shreds and the brush roll was locked up and the whole hood and base was severely scuffed up. After some TLC, new bag, and a new cord it's been working flawless for 9 years and now it's time for new brush strips and a paint job, I'm thinking after the service I might switch it out for my 1973 eureka executive commercial with shakeout bag.

Eurekas are outstanding vacuums.  I especially like the VGII brush roll.  The old Eurekas are like Kirbys.  They can take a real beating.  But with a little TLC, the just chug right along!

I sell and work with new and used red and blue line Sanitaires, which is nice, but there is nothing like a good old fashion metal base Eureka. At work I specialize in vintage vacuums and here in El Paso people still use very old vacuums everyday so I see a few metal base Eurekas.
