Model XXX: Mother's Mag and Aluminum polish for the front cover. Brillo pad for the chrome. The vinyl is old, so use rubbing alcohol on a rag to clean it. Armor All to polish the vinyl after cleaning.
Model 1205: Lacquer thinner to clean the vinyl (do NOT use it on hard plastic or paint) - removes dirt and marks like magic. Rubbing alcohol on a rag for the plastic. Mother's Mag and Aluminum polish for the top trim. I use a Sharpe marker to restore the color to the lettering on the side trim. |

I like to use Never Dull to polish and remove corrosion from both aluminum and chrome. It is something I learned about in the Navy for polishing, which is something we did a lot of. |

One thing I have found that effectively removes marks without damaging plastic is aerosol hairspray. However, it's important to note that it MUST be aerosol hairspray....the stuff sold in pump spray bottles doesn't work on removing marks. So it must be a chemical that's added to the hairspray or a propellant in the aerosol that makes it work to remove marks. Hairspray will also not mar plastic at all, completely harmless.
