What would the comparable European model of Electrolux be.

It is a very neat colour! Is it orange, or more like burnt orange?

Any ideas?

Guy

Hi, it a similar style to a 1980s Electrolux turbomatic which where diffrent on the top of the machine and came in 2 colors as far as I know Brown and redish and creamy colour/beigeish.

Hope this helps.

Here's the answer!

Hello, this is an Electrolux model D 720, produced between 1979 and 1982. There were three versions: the basic one was mod d 720, mod D 722 had manual electronic power adjustment on and the delux model D 725 had electronic and automatic power adjustment. Later models were redesigned and the colours were brown and beige, mod. D 728, D 729, D 730. Later D 738,D 739 and D 740 in white/silver and even in the late nineties there was a version of it in silver/dark grey signed "Lux Royal" the brand that still produces in Sweden the door-to-door European Electroluxes.
Does it help?
I'll post some pictures of mine!
Best regards,
Tommy

Well, thank you very much!

I like the colour so much, I'm trying to decide if I'll bid on it. I imagine that getting a hose and nozzle would prove pretty futile!!

Tommy, please do post pics of yours! Does it have a hose and nozzle. Then I'll know what to look out for.

Thanks!

Guy

Hi:

Thought you might like a picture of the viking with the PN. They used the Eureka PN when they were sold in the US.

Thanks Douglas!

So...it does not quite look like a Eureka fitting on the vacuum end. Very interesting indeed. Where did you find yours?

Guy

That picture isnt actually mine. Just a shot I kept for reference. Up till the mid to late 70's the European Electroluxes were sold in Canada under the names Volta and Dometic. Past that they were sold (and still are) as Modern Vac. This the same model as this Viking (Which was sold by Husquevarna in the US) was sold as a Modern Vac in Canada.
