On eBay is an Electrolux Epic 8000 for $95. It is just the canister and the tools that reside under the exhaust lid. In a separate listing the same seller who call themselves "dickandkitty" is offering the hose to that vacuum for $75. You can now read the message I am about to send them through eBay.

"What you are doing is one of the things that angers me about eBay sellers. I have an Epic 8000 and know you can't even turn the vacuum on or off without this hose. Yet, you sell the vac for $95 on one listing and the hose that vac absolutely must have to operate on another listing for $75 and call that a good deal. Are you going to mention to prospective buyers of the vacuum that it cannot operate without the controls on this hose, or let the customer find out the hard way? I would hope you would reconsider this tactic and sell the hose with the vacuum for a reasonable price. That would be the honorable thing to do."

DickandKitty are one of my least liked eBay sellers. They break up everything to maximize their profits and they will charge you much more than cost to ship. They will also dribble out pieces over weeks so you don't even know that they have all the pieces. I bought one item from them and I won't buy again.

I agree with you about breaking up the items however in this particular instance wouldn't the purchaser already know that the vac won't operate without the hose? Why would a buyer that is not well informed just buy the main unit without a hose or any accessories? What good would it be to them? Perhaps there is a buyer that wants just the main unit if they already have the same vac and their main unit is not working, etc. Or perhaps a buyer just needs the hose? These vacs seems to be pretty common on Ebay so if a buyer wanted the complete ensemble I would think they would just bid on another listing.

Just another point of view.
