I see Very have a few new Miele vacs made with the new law in mind. Obviously nothing new, but at least they are keeping the S5 design with a 1600 watt motor and a G energy rating.

Some fairly poor performance ratings on these machines. Very disappointing given that Miele is a premium brand.

I had a feeling Miele might bring their cleaners down to 1200w. They've been rated 1200w in the US and parts of Europe for years, so it's nothing new. It will certainly be interesting to see how they manage come 2017. So far, it seems that Miele is the only major brand not redesigning based on the 2017 legislation (ie below 900w) as we've seen cleaners from Vax, Dyson, Hoover and Numatic have.

Ty for posting, Roger.

Im confused as to why Miele aren't launching more of their 700 watt versions of the S8 in the UK, already appearing this year.

Seems like the 1600 watt version has been released, in line with putting it against SEBO's D2 in other countries that has the 1600 watt version ECO models.

SEBO already has a 1200 watt motor in their commercial version of the D2, the D Professional series.

Suspect stats though where pick up is concerned...

Also, the stats for most of these "new" Miele vacs appear to be slightly suspect.

Argos show a Miele C2 S6 model with a 2 metre hose but then suggests that it stretches up to 2.8 metres. No wonder the pick up is poor if the capped motor has to provide suction all the way on such a long travel hose, not to mention the suction tubes and floor head.
