Today's find actually didn't come from a thrift shop or an estate sale, I found it at work. It's one of the vacuums from the hotel where I work. It's a red Sanitaire heavy duty commercial vacuum. The maintenance dept said something was wrong with it and they were going to toss it out. The only thing wrong was that the shake out bag wasn't connected right and it was spewing dust. I said I'd take it and they said "ok! No paperwork for me tonight!" Lol. It just needs a good spa treatment.

I haven't seen a hotel with a Sanitaire in years; it seems most have converted to Windsors. Yours looks pretty recent. What sort of brush roll does it have?

I haven't looked under it yet but my boss said they've had them since before she started working there and she's been there 9 years.

Hotels/Sanitaire

At our hotel, pretty much the only brand that is used is Sanitaire, but every department has different vacuums. For instance, the red one I just got was from the Banquet dept (Magnolia ballroom & main restaurant), that's where I work. The coffee shop has plastic Sanitaires with onboard attachments, housekeeping has ones that look like mine but the hood is grey plastic & the bag is black, auxiliary services has the Blue Sanitaires that look like mine but blue, and meeting services actually has Hoover Conquests that are orange. Other than the one department it's all Sanitaire.
