Not every day you stumble across a model 29...
I mainly got it for the bag - and/or parts.
It seems to be in well-used shape; and is missing the High/Norm lever and hook that holds the wheels up when you put it on High... and I haven't yet plugged it in.

Only $8.95! Such a bargain!

It's gonna live in the trunk until I get a chance to clean it up a bit.

:-)

Oh Fred that is just beautiful! The bag looks like it's in mint condition, is that the original bag for this model? You have this model don't you, so you can take both machines and make one really good one?

Love the REVOOH!

Nice find there Fred, we never had the burgandy model here, just the blue 613...nothing like finding a spares machine and making one beauty..

Love the personalised number plate, one of our club members in UK has had this as his handle, it was years before I realised it was Hoover backwards..LOl..

Happy hunting, Mike

"I mainly got it for the bag"

Well duh! The first thing i thought when i saw that machine was "Ooh, that bag!"

(ducks and runs)

Nice find, Fred...I too really like the look of the bag on that machine. The machine itself seems to be in really good shape.

How in the #%@&**#&*$ did they rip off the height adjuster on a model 29? You would really have to work at that to get it off of the cleaner. It just goes to show you that these machines lead lives that are sometimes very strange!

Great photos!

Nice Find Fred!

And for a reasonable price. And I agree, that's a nice looking bag on it, even though it's not the original. And the machine itself looks great. Congratulations!

i guess i was confused when you said you got this machine for the bag, Fred. esp since you already have an exquisite model 29. i DO remember how happy i was to find a phony bag when i had NO bag at all!

those model 29s woulda made a wonderful basis for a commercial model.

Fred

Love the license plate! (The vacuum is pretty cool too!)

How old is the Model 29?

Nope, that's not the original bag.. but it's a very pretty bag at that. :) The bag itself was well worth the $8.95.

I was moving some boxes around last night--boxes that still have vacuums in them from the move--and one of them said "Extra 29" ... So, apparently, I have an extra model 29, in addition to this one. Maybe I will make one fabulous one out of two so-so ones.

And, yes, I do have a fabulous model 29 already... Original bag and everything. I did put a current genuine Hoover replacement cord on it... I believe some early 29's had black cords, and some had the burgundy cord. So, the current replacement works for me.

I also fitted mine with a model 62 bag ring and bellows assembly, so I can run it with a HandiSac inside... and not dirty up the bag. :-)

You can't even tell the HandiSac and other fill tube and bellows is in the bag when looking from the front.

From the back it does look the tiniest bit pregnant.

Logan

model 29 was made from 1950-1953.

Fred...

That is a beautiful model 29. I have always like the color combo. Mine has a bojack red cord on it. I like that you put in the Handisac unit to protect that very fragile bag. The original bags are VERY scarce eventhough Hoover made a ton of model 29s. I wonder what happened to them all? Great photos!

That 29 is indeed Fabulous!

I have the paper bag setup from a 638 in my U7008 commercial, makes it so much cleaner to use :).

613????

Mike,

You mentioned in your post 28321 that we had the blue model 613, did you mean the 638? or is there a rare beast I should be looking for?

Happy hoovering.

Clark.

P.S. (Rather green with envy over your U1104 in black, EB exclusive!). LOL

That is probably the most beautiful 29 I've ever seen, especially with that original bag on it! Mine has a Dust Care bag on it that uses Convertible bags amd a generic gray cord. I really enjoy running it, and so does my Grandson!
