ok, that was just too good not to use and the vacuum parts in the pix are pre 1980.

Arrived home Sunday about 1PM from Pete's place in Sarnia where I spent overnight after the 4 day dash across the midwest from Winnipeg. I drove right through that Wisconsin Snow-out on Friday. Whew, what a mess and I hope all our friends were not in any of those horrendous pileups and flipovers...

Anyway, this news is about the new kitten, vauum Mascot Felix Furby, that Pete's sister found for me and has been caring for while I was travelling. He's 11 weeks old (a Scorpio) and just too adorable. Hector took to him right away - it's a miracle, I tells ya...

First had to remove a few large snowplow icebergs from the driveway but there's not much snow and the temp is mild at +1. Snow tomorrow.

Spent 30 minutes luvin' up Hector then brought in Felix, stood back and watched. About 7 minutes after opening the cage door Hector was all over the new one nicely. While we watched the news and I had my dinner they were both on my lap licking each other. Since then they've been cavorting and sleeping and chasing. Felix can get into places Hector is too big to now so that's fun.

Car is totally unloaded and it's great to be home again. It will take days before I can organize all the treasures so kindly put in my path that I hauled home. Whee!!!

Felix climbs the hoses.

We all had a snuggle & snoozefest before going about the business of sorting out the vacuum loot all over the kitchen floor & table.

Felix Is Cute!

...And that lovely Canadian-spec Lux shag tool right above his head in the first shot is even cuter.

I'll ignore the vacuum cleaners (painful as that is) to tell you how much I love seeing Felix and Hector take to each other, they are so lucky! I was thinking of getting my TomTiger a little brother when a better time comes, but he already feels dislocated from his home with the activity here now. I'm so glad yours are enjoying each other. Oh, and great vacuum stuff, especially that GE Reach-Easy!

Adorable cats!

Are your cats dark brown or black? I have one that looks a little like your Hector!

Thanks guys. I'm so lucky I was able to find a playmate for Hector so hasslelessly.

Hector is an 11 year old glossy black perky shorthair with a white throat patch. His gone brother Dexter was same mother/different father all black long long hair.

Felix is gonna be all black persian with about 16 white throat hairs. Right now he's that new dusty black downy fur fluff ball Furby kitten look. :-) Already getting him used to the brush 'cause he's gonna need the spa comb treatment weekly.

Of course I give Hector most of the attention when he's in my lap; he doesn't mind Felix playing with his tail at all.

I can hear them now out in the livingroom bouncing off stuff. :-) Delightful.

House he was staying at, the lady Pauline ran the vacuum and he doesn't mind at all. This a dream adoption situation, all around.

Things I need if anyone has some spare parts lying around.

At the last moment, after hemming and hawing if it would fit anywhere in the car I took the war weary turquoise Lx G from Doug in Moose Jaw, by wedging in on the floor behind the passsenger seat. Works great and used it at Al's during the piano restoration until the Compact hose was fashioned.

Well, the G has no wheels. The rear ones broke off when someone heavy he lent it to probably stood on it as a stepstool, and the two front ones (the dummy ones used as a tipover guard around the central caster) have the wheel edges broken to the rim.

Frankly, I'd be happy with any color wheels. Also missing the plastic door latch button.

email me.

That's the olive green Dual Santronic power unit behind it. The Kirby's all in pieces to fit all over the car. Gonna give it a quick cleanup this morning...

Btw, I have an extra Kirby Tradition Blue bag complete but for the vinyl bag hanger cover, and SaniEmptor, if someone needs it...

Hey Dave

They're both cute. Nice to see that they are getting along with each other so quickly too. (The piano in the background of the last pic is beautiful too). Glad you got home in one piece.

Doug

The biege shag rug Lux tool completes my AP100 - Doug also came up with the plastic & aluminum suction control dial for the canister top and a matching rug tool.

The forlorn GE was a fluke assembly. Once I said I'd take it from the parts pile Doug ran around finding a replacement hose and some GE period tools. The caddy is from a burgundy or brown one and the cord is a bright blue replacement - I think I have a correct color green cord around here somewhere, and the blue will look real special on something else. :-)

And. I now have a correct color cloth weave hose for my Turquoise Compact C6. Al, who is not a collector of vacuums, wasn't going to get that for his, LOL.

Oh, oh, oh!!! Doug found the correct older GE hose ends in matching green/blue to put on that rescued cloth weave hose that came with my Roll-Easy way back a few months ago. Remember I found that turquoise plastic hose and did a transplant? Well, now the woven hose will vacuum off a GE swiveltop once again...

It's like Christmas all over again around this house this week.

Big thanks to Doug in Moose Jaw for these Kirby Omega attachments, all I'm missing now is the hose for it.
Also got the proper Elux 88 red floor tool and the little hose connector for my Airway.

Sis just phoned two minutes ago she's missing Felix already this morning, she got your pictures and is thrilled he's found a good home.

Of course all those vacuums also have their bag compartments stuffed with pieces from whatever, yet to be opened.

3 Canadian Luxs, a Goblin, The GE and a metal tub canadian Filter Queen model 31 with the pierced aluminum filter cone. Two nested inside each other actually.

A pile of hoses.

You can see the corner of the carton containing an original Canadian Constellation 841E swiveltop set, sold by the T Eaton Company Department Store in Winnipeg. Yup, I'm the guy snatched that pristine beauty off Ebay...and no shipping. It is immaculate.

Silly Sidebar.

I picked these Serenity Fountains over in Winnipeg at a Salvation Army Thrift Store for $1 each. Don't ask me to explain. LOL

Got them all working this morning. The one in the middle is truly tacky - three colored LEDs cycle through the rainbow lighting up the water dripping from the top. I must say the cats are fascinated with them and makes me think I'll get them one of those pumping drinking water stations.
