I've been rebuilding vintage vacuums for a few years now (mostly Kirby, Electrolux, Compact, and Rainbow) and it's not unusual to come across a frozen screw.  So I've learned on certain models to go immediately to my Impact Driver (e. g. Kirby wheel screws and bearing plate screws).

But on occasion, a screw head gets stripped.  That's especially true with slotted screws.  So what is one to do?!?!

I've tried various methods, but with limited results.  That is until I across this little tool!  It works like a charm every time.  I'm sure most of you rebuilders already knew about this tool.  But I sure am glad I came across it!

There's one for slotted screws and one for Phillips head screws too.  Just a few taps into the screw head to seat the tool, then turn!  It's worked every time I've ever used it!
