Hi this is my first post. I just got a tan Dirt Devil MVP swivel glide from a friend. They said it need a new belt because the one it had would not stay on.The reason it would not stay on was because it was not twisted properly. But it smells like burning rubber when first turned on after that it goes away. Also the color is odd to me because i only no of Dirt Devil making the classic red or a greenish color. But this one is not red or greenish its tan. If anyone knows if this color was only available at a certain store like the greenish was only at Kmart. Also this vacuum was made in 2001. i will post some pics later. tanks for any help in advance!

Ames had the swivel glide MVP in tan and Red. I don't think it was exclusive to anywhere, I think a few places had them. I bought my grandparents a red one at the Ames going out of business sale for $20 or so, they still have it but now use bagless models. I personally didn't care for it the few times I used it up at their house. I think the swivel wheels were too small hard to push in higher pile carpet. Other than that it cleaned well enough.

Yes in the 90's they had them in blue & gold before going to green then red. Which stores carried them, Walmart, Brandsmart, & another one that slips my mind.
