I love Hoover convertibles, but I don't know all that much about them as far as history goes and which models are better/stronger. If like to ad a few more to my collection but I'm not sure which ones yet. What are some of you guy's favourite models/ colour schemes?

Nathan that's the Hoover they sold at K-Mart back in the 80's. It's a good, strong suction machine since grey changed it to an A bag. Mark D.

Were certain models of convertibles only available at certain stores? I've know I've heard from several people that one with striped bags only come from Kmart

Different department stores

Carried different models. I remember Britts carried the light blue Hoovers they even had the one that looked like denim. I forget what colours Zayers carried Golden Triangle & Leeds carried the same ones Kauffmans & Service Merchandise carried similar colours too. Back in the day there were more department stores everywhere even McCroys sold them too. It was amazing!!! Mark D.

That is all news to me. I do like the blue ones though.

I wonder how many different colour schemes, bag patterns, etc were actually produced. I'm sure the possibilities are endless

Just looked that up and your right, they're are some great pics on there! I've never seen a lot of those before. I have however, on a road trip many years ago, stayed at an older holiday inn and they were still using those innkare convertibles.
