While I was at Goodwill earlier this afternoon, I spotted what I thought was a Fantom Thunder, but took a closer look and it was a Kenmore Destiny Plus! It didn't come with any attachments and was pretty beat up. I decided not to buy it. I have been looking for Fantoms for quite a while now, and when I see one, I always miss the opportunity to get it.

What do you guys think? Should I go back and get it? I heard that these Kenmore machines are pretty rare.

Here is a pic of the vacuum sitting at Goodwill.

it is a rebadged fantom Thunder.. it's a great vacuum. One of a very few regrets I have is getting rid of my Thunder, I kick myself all the time.

That is an amazing goodwill find!

It is a great vacuum, if fully functional. It is more rare than a fantom thunder, it was only sold through sears. I would get it, as they last for years if taken care of. It is exactly the same as the fantom thunder. These are becoming harder to come by as collectors hold on to these.

I would buy it, including since I'm on a Fantom hunt after seeing a Limited Edition red-bin/head light Thunder at a garage sale which I did not buy.

Seeming that the bin isn't cracked on this one (like the LE Fantom I found, I'd say it's worth it.

Sadly...

I don't think I'm going back to get that vacuum. In the picture, the HEPA filter casing has a lot of "rungs" missing, presumably from the previous owner bumping the vacuum into furniture. It didn't come with any attachments, and the inner cyclone chamber in the collection bin was missing.

I'm still looking for Fantoms, though!
