I set up my buff motor and began using it for the first time in over three years. I managed to complete the nozzle, em-tor, and headlight cover tonight. So here's a question to all you buffers out there: Does this casting need more coloring? I think it needs a little more work. Thanks! |

I've been using the Heritage I Handi-Butler to polish my 1979 Tradition, This is what I've got so far! I've done the motor shell and fan housing so far, although I've had them slightly polished before that! Do you have any before pictures? If you're doing this from one of those grime-loaded and dull Kirby examples, you're making RECORD time!
Here's my Tradition so far-Not bad for a Kirby polishing another Kirby, what do you think? |

That is a very impressive job with the Handi-Butler! I wonder how fast the vacuum spins the buff wheel on one of those. The Classic III I'm working on wasn't in bad shape, so the work is going pretty fast.

I tried the 0000 steel wool as you suggested and it worked like a charm! It really makes a difference in the shine and does bring it up to a mirror finish after the final color polish on the wheel. Thanks for the tip!
Today is my day off, so I'll be reassembling the vacuum today and hope to post a few photos tonight!
