Just a quick question. New to this forum and really like it and was wondering what other Electrolux models used the same hose as the L model? I just got a beautiful L model, but thought if I could also buy some later models and use the same hose that could be a good thing.

Hi, welcome to the forum, and congratulations on the purchase of a Electrolux Model L!

The Model L actually had four different color versions since its debut in April 1963:

Ivory with teal trim and wheels (1963-1966)

Tan with ivory trim and wheels (1967-1968)

Teal with ivory trim and wheels (1968-1974)

Gold with ivory trim and wheels (1974-1978)

The hose of your machine also went with the standard model at the time, the teal Model 1205 (1968-1974); the Model L being the "limited" or economical unit without the automatic shut-off feature or "bag full" indicator. One wonders if "L" indeed stood for "Limited".

By the way, the cord winder was optional, so some have them and some have what is called the "halo" wrap.

I also wanted to mention that yours is likely a later teal Model L due to the polished cast aluminum-covered power nozzle, Model PN-2. The earlier ones had the plastic teal-covered PN-1.

It is also worth mentioning that while your crevice tool is the right color, it actually is one from the aqua Model G (1961-1966). The one for your machine would have been narrower. Look carefully in the photo below to see what I'm talking about.

If you are into the teal color, you may also want to consider purchasing the same color Turbo Rug Washer and the Model B-8 Floor Polisher/Carpet Beautifier that were also manufactured from 1968-1974 (see photos below).

All in all, it's a great machine. Happy vacuuming--Model L style!

Everyone

Thanks for all the great information. I really enjoyed reading up about it. I liked cleaning with the model L. It did the job.
