My Eureka 1475a. Been in my family since new. One I would never let go of. Was used daily from 1984 until 1999. Never been rebuilt. Was stored from 199-2013. I brought it back out and its living again. Runs and cleans as if it were new.

Do the Eureka 1400 series have a long motor life like the rest of the old Eurekas? What were the differences of the series?

The cord near the plug gets warm when using. What causes this?

Try cleaning the prongs of the plug with light sand paper. Sometimes oxidation can create extra resistance on the electrical current.

Never thought of that. The prongs do look a little dirty. Will try it. Thanks so much!
