I picked up this Dyson dc04 absolute this bank holiday weekend to help finish a little project. The dyson was filthy but cleaned up brilliantly, the brushroll couldn't even be identified as it was covered in hair! After some work and the "part" put in place I may have a one of a kind dyson! I have yet to test if it works better or different to the normal helix type but I'm very interested in testing it out soon!

Isn't that just a non clutched brushroll in a clutched absolute+?

Nice machine though!

Thank you Sam!

Well if it works then that's cool! No idea what the differences are tbh, although the clutched ones are lighter. Can't imagine it killing the clutch quickly though. Even if it does £1 for a pack of belts and carry on!

The helix brush bar is designed that way so it doesn't impede the flow of dirt when in the Bare Floor mode. The larger chevron brush, when off and cleaning hard floors, will tend to hang the dirt up on its way into the machine. Nice retrofit, I believe you'll get better performance out of it with the non-clutched brush bar. The best cleaning Dyson ever, was one that was only available in the USA, the DC17 Absolute.
