first stickers came out on 1205. The salesmen took the stickers off the cleaner and put it on the contract. At least it was done for a few years. Some sales people did it the way they always did and wrote the serial number down. |

The model 1 referred to in this list is actually a Norca. Hoover built two models of the Norca. The first was the model 1,built from 1937 to 1939. It was almost identical to the Hoover 300 except for a different bag, Norca badge on the nozzle, motor cap was blue with an orange stripe instead of black with a green stripe, and the agitator did not have beater bars.
The model 80 Norca, built from 1939to 1942, was almost identical to the Hoover 305, except for a different bag, NORCA embossed on the hood instead of HOOVER, and the agitator did not have beater bars. The Norcas were sold at retail stores at even lower prices than the 300 and 305, which were Hoover's economy models at the time. Jeff |
