I recently purchased a really nice Super J from eBay, and before I take it home I decided to test it out this morning....Our wonderful cleaning staff just don't seem to understand the concept of running a vacuum under our desks as I've been watching the same dust bunny collection since October of last year. Anyway to make a long story short, I cleaned out under my desk and I must say that old Super J worked marvelously, but I received some of the strangest looks from my co - workers as they came in this morning...I guess they aren't used to seeing someone in dress clothes running a vacuum cleaner!

I absolutely love this Electrolux, so lucky! My grandpa had one of these when I was younger, they also had the shampooer that was usually sold with it, and the Electrolux ( I think it was Regina ) electric sweeper. And hello fellow Kentuckian! I too work in a large under cleaned office, I believe I'm going to buy a cheap handheld for work just to vacuum under my desk!

Being a cleaner for commercial buildings I understand what you are talking about. My position is a floor tech and honestly I CANT STAND IT when people cannot go the extra mile to clean under desks. It is part of their job. Anyway I would have done the same thing. Great purchase!!!!

Thank you! Yes, the Super J has been one of my favorites for years. When I was quite a bit younger, my dad brought home the first Super J I had ever seen and gave it to me since mom already had an Olympia One (which I now have it too). I run that old thing until the motor finally gave out one day. Now that I've actually started collecting them, I have several of that model and in fact I have a rebuilt one I use quite often. My daily drivers vary between my Super J, Silverado, or Rainbow SE.....sometimes though if I'm feeling REALLY nostalgic, I'll pull out my XXX and tear through the house! Welcome to you Brad! It's always nice to see another fellow Kentuckian on here, and I actually work in Paintsville, so I'm not all that far from you!

Mike, while I've never worked in the commercial cleaning business, I do like to keep my workspace half-way organized and clean. I like our cleaning crew, they're nice enough, but I think they're afraid of catching computer cords in the vacuum or something as they only run them in the large open areas. I found that dust bunny family when I first moved into that desk back at the end of October last year and decided to leave them to see how long it would take for them to be disposed of. After learning from a co-worker that they had been watching a dead fly caught in a spider web for over a year and a half, I quickly realized that my bunnies under my desk were there to stay unless I did something about them! I finally figured it was time for them to move on and would be a good test for that Super J. If I'd had the time, I probably would have cleaned under every desk in our little workspace, but the girls started coming in and looking at me like I had lobsters coming out of my ears or something, so I ended up cutting my cleaning short! Give me a good running vacuum that doesn't shriek like these cheap ones you find at the big box stores, and I can get lost for hours cleaning! It's almost like relaxation therapy for me!

Well my workplace does do a random spring cleaning every now and then. They lug in this "old" looking shampooer (its fairly huge and all metal kind of reminds me of a rainbow, at least how the canister is) the vacuum they use looks to be like some type of entry level Hoover. And only when they do this they vacuum under each desk.

One of the selling points that are mentioned in the NSS M-1 brocbure points out that one advantage of the suction only nozzle is that you can vacuum under desks and run the nozzle over cords with no danger of tangling them up in the brush or damaging them. This just made me think of that.

Do they make a extension cord for the power brush thing? I got it out to use it for my first use and noticed I wasn't able to use the extensions since the power brush had no power cord.
