In fact, this is the very first BRAND NEW Kirby I've ever purchased. But I couldn't resist. I really like it's updated (maybe retro) style! I also own the Diamond G that was almost new when I bought it. I think the transmission shifts more smoothly on the Sentria II. I also installed the pet brushroll on it, since I own a Golden Retriever.

Congratulations! The new color scheme is growing on me. What was the buying experience like? Is there anyway to get a new Kirby without high-pressure sales tactics and minimal negations? I'm sure you knew more about the Kirby than the salesman did!

What a gorgeous Kirby I own four Sentria II's nothing compares to a Kirby hence my name ;)
I love HOOVER but Kirby beats a HOOVER hands down !
Here are two of mine the other is NIB and one is at my Ocean front condo .
The Diamond edition with the gentle switch was my favorite until this model came out .
The bag design is Coach/Gucci inspired to give it that upscale designer look .
I can't wait to buy the new 100th anniversary Avalir .

Enjoy
Dan

Sales Experience

I've known the distributor for a few years, so the sales experience was straightforward. No shenanigans. I too was a little leary of the design when it first appeared. However, it really grew on me and it looks much nicer in person! The Emtor seems to be a slightly different design too. I'm not sure, but it looks like it allows for better airflow.

Kirby Good Luck

Having satisfactory experience as a Kirby owner has oh such much to do with the folks with whom you deal. Over the years (since 1972), I've been able to deal with two long-standing and reputable dealers who always offered fair pricing and never believed in trying to scam their customers. Along with this, the quality and reliability of any Kirby I've owned has made the investment worthwhile. I won't use this post to relate the history of my vacs--which are many--but I, too, just recently bought a new Kirby Sentria II. I have the Sentria I bought in 2006, and I really didn't need to spring for the Sentria II (which is still in the box), but my antagonism towards it's styling when it first came out has slowly grown on me to the point that I wanted to own it before the possibility that Kirby might change it's new model to something that I won't like. Who knows? Anyway, as I see it, having a new Sentria II now is better than trying to find a nice used one down the road. In my collection, my two favorites are the D50 and the Diamond Edition.
