Um, the existing HEPA filter cartridges in blue DO have carbon on the underside - same as the Active Air Clean filters - only difference is that the HEPA filter has paper pleats on the top.
Miele in the UK have just released the TimeStrip versions, which will also fit that model. However the old part number is "SF-AH 30 Active HEPA Filter." The new one with TimeStrip is called "SF-HA 30" and now in white. The dust bag from Miele that would fit that S600 model is the GN HyClean series as the bag area is bigger, designed to accommodate the bigger capacity. Link to user manual. If it doesn't work, I can email it to you. CLICK HERE TO GO TO sebo_fan's LINK |

Gosh, the US are quick to move with their Miele parts aren't they? Thank you for that information and for clarifying what is next from Miele with the AirClean series bags. The UK market and Miele UK are still selling HyClean dust bags, here.
The TimeStrip versions of the filters have only just come to the UK market too. Miele haven't added any new ones for the S100/stick vac ranges yet but the price increases for the old AAC and HEPA filter are slightly higher priced. I can't help but feel that the TimeStrip is a marketing spin on owners being forced or pressured to spend more on filter replacements, though. If the carbon has been removed, I beg to wonder how the filters will cope with pet hair. Normally the old filters are pretty good in my experience, but they need the added carbon. |

No you can't clean the filter in bleach. It will have to be replaced. Maybe you can find on one for a cheaper price. |

WOW! Very nice Miele find there, TASE! And you certainly can't beat the price you paid for it. However, consider yourself lucky you didn't get the PN with the vacuum. Here in Canada, you could choose between either the SEB217 or the SEB236 with fluorescent light & height adjustment. But the SEB236 was very problematic when first released....had problems with the ballast malfunctioning & the fluorescent light not working properly, & also the wiring in the quick release neck breaking easily. If you do buy a new PN for it, insist on buying a new one in the box from a authorized Miele dealer, in case you have problems with it.

The AAC filters have always been recommended for pet owners and smokers. However, having just sold my Miele S5 to a friend who is both a smoker and a pet owner, the AAC filter isn't strong enough to combat the smell of the dog hair. I have already ordered her a new Miele HEPA filter and we'll see how that goes.
