well i have this,i think rare small shake out bag & a handle to make my royals into compact mode much like a kirby but you have to drag the long handle around with it because the cord is attached through the long handle to the motor unit. seems to defeat the purpose of the small handle. any ideas or input on this matter?

If you're handy with wiring, just add a socket and plug. You'll have to sacrifice an extension cord, so try to find a used one with 16 gage two conductor if possible.

Dwayne,
There actually was a special cord and switch assembly you could use on the Royal metal upright cleaner whenever the portable handle was to be used. It was part no. 2-028535-200, but it has not been available since the late 1980s, and even finding one used can be tricky these days! You take the entire long handle and cord assembly off (providing the machine you have has the pigtail cord assembly), and put the portable handle and special cord/switch assembly in place. These two accessories, along with the small shake-out bag and the polisher brush assembly, were part of the 368 "Extra Equipment" kit. ~Ben |
