Looking at Argos.co.uk today I see the Dyson Trade-In is on again. Looking at the DC54, you can get £100 off for example, but obviously with cheaper or lower models (the DC25) you get less off. But would you still buy one even with the trade in?

According to T&C, you can take any vacuum (including carpet washers & handhelds) in any condition to get the amount off.

I'm actually going to do the trade In and I wanna get a dyson dc54. It's actually cheaper to get it from Currys you get £110 off the dc54 I did the trade in a couple years ago and you can trade in Any vacuum cleaner Personally I like the dc54 more than dc25 I've been waiting for the trade In for a while so can get the DC53

There's loads of DC54's going cheap on Ebay and Gumtree - why bother with Argos or Currys?

Here's one for example:

I wonder if you could trade in a £30 Argos vacuum to get £100 off a new Dyson?

100% on the dc54 pet Animal It's 10 times better and you get loads of more accessories You get the carbon fibre head the Hard floor Attachment and the tangle free turbo And if you get it from Currys you get A Flaxseed crevice tool If you buy them from gumtree or eBay you don't get the five year guarantee I know Because I asked Dyson Also if you get it from currys you getting in blue

Go for it, the dc54 is brilliant, it's out cleaned our miele and Sebo.

With the trade in its good indeed.

I'd say you would be better trading some £5 plastivac that you've cleaned up for one yes! Don't scrap a nice old machine though!

Hi-lo

Yes it is durable, it's essentially the same as the dc39 and 47 machines. I did drop one at work accidentally, from chest height, no damage at all.
It's not noisy, it's the turbine head that's the noisiest, the machine itself, it's not quiet but not loud either, you can't talk over it, but it doesn't leave ringing in the ears

LOL well if you can't talk over it, it's a noisy machine : )

I was intrigued by Dyson's offer but its not the first time they've done this and it probably won't be the last,

They usually do the offer about twice a year.

Beckham the DC25 is much better than a DC50. The DC50 is a mini DC51 with a new brush and new cyclone. But the DC41 have ball snapping problems so the right part of the ball has a pin which always breaks. the left filter side is fine. The DC50 probs is prone to this too.
The DC50 and DC41 have the misleading click and will most likely develop standing up problems
The DC50 has a flimsy handle which I would be more careful with that than a DC04 with a very very very sun bleached wand

Yes super sweeper, as it so happens I do have the inkling of throwing my vacuum off the roof. What would you perhaps recommend for that?

Parwaz Dyson used to have a problem with the ball snapping problems but the design has been changed all models from 2013 don't have a problem I've got a Dyson DC 41 and I've had no problems with that is fantastic Vacuum cleaner. If you don't go for a dyson you could get a shark rotator that has just come to the United Kingdom

Get a nice ladder and drag the 'Specimen' (DYSON) upon the roof. I'm sure the Hoovers will cheer you on from Carpet Command central! Swing your best, heavy, plasticy shot, just watch out for Mrs.Ronard' s beautiful new DeSoto next door!Tongue out

Anyway... back to topic. HiLo, you could perhaps go to your local store, they will no doubt let you have a try out with it.
If I remember correctly there isn't much price difference with the multi floor and animal, so the animal exclusive would make more sense with the extra tools.

By the way, mine came from Dyson so the gaskets are red instead of blue, which I actually think looks more eye-catching.

Joshua, your cat looks absolutely adorable!
