I've never found a listing of vintage Electrolux vacuums by model number that shows all the model names that model number was sold under.

For example, a Regency 1000 is a model 1623 but I understand that model number 1623 covers more than just this one model name.

Thank you

If

you go down the list to thread 263994 a lot of your questions will be answered.

Ray,

Wasn't the Electrolux Advantage canister also a 1623?

The Advantage was a model 1625

Thanks, Ray. I'll take it that it was the only cleaner in that model unless I hear differently from you. Was it sold in stores or catalogs? It doesn't seem to be popular enough to have been sold door-to-door.

I should also ask as I'm thinking about it if there were different versions (automatic and basic) of it.

I know I've seen one but don't really remember anything about it. It wasn't a memorable moment in my life. I know it was made sometime around 1993 and was gray in color. Since it was a 1600 series I would think it was not an automatic. Other than that I really couldn't tell you anything about it.

The Advantage

started out as a show special, then sold door to door for a short time. There was also an upright.

Here is a list I composed using online information and personal observations. The years are approximate. Any substantiated corrections or additions (not just relying on memory or guesses) are welcome.

Note: Tanks were straight suction only until 1959 with the introduction of the power nozzle option.

Key:
* - basic model (manual)
** - standard model (automatic--the term 'deluxe' was used 1968 - c.1984 until power nozzles became standard)
***premium model (automatic w/greater capabilities and standard accessories)
> - hospital line (the only such one Electrolux Corporation ever carried)
^ - indirect sales/show lines (those without a caret were/are only direct sales)
^^ - indirect sales/show lines and direct sales
+ - only around 500 manufactured to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the consecutive use of 1205-style tanks (the earlier LX and LXI also had rectangular bodies); given to branch owners and associates with extremely high overall sales (personally identified with name plaques)

The primary color is listed before the forward slash, and the secondary color/trim is listed after. Tertiary or quaternary colors are not listed.

It seems that the Aerus logo was used on machines prior to 2004 as a replier in another thread had mentioned. I think it may have been at least 2002 going by someone who told me that she'd purchased a Lux 7000 in 2002; and I haven't seen one without the Aerus logo.

I have been unable to identify the tank in the photo below. It looks like a Model C152/2100. Do you know its model and name?

The list would be pretty different in Canada.
