Is John Long, he should be able to tell you colors, years, and if your HOOVER is capable of supporting the Turbonic-Gardener™ attachment. As much as I love my HOOVERS, all I can be certain on is the VERY first Dial-A-Matic cleaner, the world's first clean-air upright, was released in 1963 in the color of pumpkin and taupe! |

The U5015 was either the last (or one of the very last) non-power drive models offered. It was shown in the 1978 lineup page. I have heard tell of them being sold new as late as 1980. I personally would take a U5015 Dial-A-Matic over the Concept One that immediately followed in a second. Tool conversion was sooo much easier.

I'm a huge fan of Dial-A-Matics, I just love them so much! They weren't perfect but I would still buy one:) I actually saw an orange one at a thrift store store years ago, I don't remember why I didn't get it but I should've anyways.
