This was from a collection of brochures I had Peter Lewis send to me. Thank you, Peter!

This one is about Royal's brush rolls (the ball-bearing brush rolls were all new at the time) for its metal upright vacuums. Print date: October 1993.

I didn't know they still made the pile lifter/floor polisher brush. It was included in the extra accessories kit they used to sell along with a sprayer and the small bag, short handle, and cord with inline switch to convert it to a hand vac. Here is a pic of a grey attachment set, and below, the extra equipment kit.

The other thing I've noticed was that the double-bristle rolls w/o stiffeners have a 180-degree helix design whereas those with the stiffeners have a 90-degree helix. So, may I ask of your opinions about which of the two double-bristle brush designs is better?

Does Any Detail Escape Your Attention?

Sheesh Ben, you pick up on things 99% of the population probably never notices... myself included!

Now that you mention this, I'm going to guess the 180 degree bristles will have the better sweeping action, but wouldn't be adventitious for the "thumping" action of a stiffener. A stiffener wound around 180 degrees, would have more of a shearing action than beating.

Clarification

My spell check changed advantageous to adventitious, whatever that is.

And, by shearing action, I mean slicing between the carpet fibers, not cutting them off. Hope that makes sense!
