This video was just uploaded on Hoover's Youtube account. It seems they have a big announcement for a new model, with "Full size. Full Power. Total Freedom" Maybe it's a new battery upright?

you're right and this will begin the biggest upgrade cycle since bagless became a 'thing'.

Oh you have no idea how disappointed I was when I watched your video link - I thought for a moment when reading your post, it was going to be from Hoover UK!!!

Im still holding out for a new bagged upright from Hoover Europe.

Sweeper Central has promised me first crack at this new product as soon as it becomes available so fair warning at $299.00 it's a steal . I can't for John to send me one to be the first one on the block with this baby . It's great to have an awesome friend with connections it's a shame more people don't appreciate John Gregory . He certainly brings me the new world of TTI Hoover technology directly to me and I can't thank him enough . Thank God for TTI and John Gregory with out them there would be no Hoover .
Stay tuned for pictures but for I will enjoy my UH72600 while I wait for Hoovers newest wonder .

Wish it was a power head canister with full size really powerful power nozzle and on board tools with motor driven compact power nozzle similar to a PowerMate Jr.

Why don't you contact TTI and discuss your needs/wants. They're eager to listen to the consumer. The designers there in Ohio are receptive. I've been there, in al of the buildings. I have ALL of the contacts for them, if you'd like. We can talk privately.

Thanks for the press release statement.

Interesting that the president says:

"...Today, I am proud to announce the launch of Air™ Cordless, the first in a range of groundbreaking cordless products from Hoover. I feel that within 5 years, the majority of our products will be cord free. Who better to lead than us?"

Did America never get the cordless bagged Electrolux in the 1980s? Of course it may have been under a Eureka tag. Im sure it was a Contour upright with a battery pack. An interesting concept and typical Electrolux - ahead of its time, back then.

im not sure how I feel about cordless "larger" upright vacuums, though. It really depends on how long the batteries are going to last and how long they require charging. Hoover's press releases claims 50 mins cleaning time...

And, the batteries

will be very expensive.

Yes we had the Eureka Freedom cordless upright vacuum a great idea but the charge never lasted . Today's Lithium batteries last much longer and 50 minutes is much longer than most average people vacuum . To some $50.00 might be VERY expensive but that's a great price when I get mine I'm also getting an extra battery so I can extend my cleaning time . I am so excited and can't wait until it arrives at my front door .

Mind you, the Hoover Windtunnel Air is hardly "large." I think Hoover U.S have done well to release something slightly different.

I've considered the Vax Mach Air to be like an improved stick vac because of its capacity and lightweight design and the Windtunnel Air is like a good compromise of a stick vac and upright vac.

I guess the age of smaller uprights will eventually replace a lot of bulky modern upright vacs currently available.

They launched it on HSN today. I was very impressed with the demo. Maybe they will add a video later to the link.

I figured it would be something like this

gottahaveahoove's profile picture
And, it comes with 2 batteries. So, you'll be able to clean twice as long.It doesn't mention a headlight, though. We'll see what the repairs/returns are like.

Kind of think that 50 minutes is probably with both batteries combined time.

Wonder why the Miele cordless power nozzle never took off. To me, that would be a fantastic development in canister vacs: a power nozzle canister with no complicated wiring through the hose and wands. Better than a turbo nozzle!

Interesting idea, but it is essentially similar to a Dyson Cordless albeit being a full size vacuum, but similar in theory plus the latter having much more versatility.

If this is Hoover, I wonder if we are getting it under the Vax brand here in the UK?

Having seen their new dual power shampooer, they can keep them, very cheap and far from cheerful.

Frankly, TTI's ownership of Vax means constantly decreasing prices. You'll be lucky if the German brands fall so quickly. Cost prices are usually the number one attractant for most UK buyers these days, not collectors though - just average Joe.

Even now, whenever one of my friends asks for the recommendation of a "cheap" bagless upright or cylinder, I point them towards Vax's NLOS models. They're cheaper online of course, but even at franchise shops on the high street, you can find bargains aplenty. They may not last but that is a seldom "necessity" I find cropping up in conversations nowadays.

Hoover 'It's time to rethink cleaning"

More disposable plastic junk. It even looks cheap in the picture. I would not even bother to carry it home if it were only $29.00.
Very sad to see what they are offering.
Somehow I can't imagine that lasting after a few drops down the stairs or even a bump against the sofa leg like my Aerus/Lux and Rainbow.
I think I will let you guys enjoy it and I will keep my old made in USA North Canton Hoovers.

All things considered though I don't think it is that much different to Hoover's Linx cordless stick vac. Only difference is that you probably get a longer lasting battery on board the new Air model plus a stretch hose with proper cleaning tools and bigger bin capacity. Does the Linx therefore have a shorter run battery?

According to Consumer Reports tests, the Platinum Linx is the top rated stick vac of the 7 tested. Better performance and less expensive than Dyson's DC44.
