Straight suction vac I saw today at the local thrift shop.
The asking price was $45

$45!?

Typical thrift-shop mark-up! Just yesterday I saw a "Pre War-World II manual juicer" for $90 in some old goods store! but everything was "Half-off", HA! even then, $45 for a JUICER? I think not!Laughing I wonder if that thrift store has a half-off day?

Ahh

The thrift stores are asking too much these days

That Royal was probably built between the late 20's and mid 30's. Prior to 1928, the bag coupling was on the other side of the fan case, and in the mid 30's Royal began producing vacuums with a revolving brush. Don't think I'd pay their asking price for it though. Here's a pic of a pre-1928 Royal, before I started restoration on it (which isn't finished yet).

Would you happen to have a picture of Royal's first model with a revolving brush? And what model would this be?

Sorry Anthony, but my oldest revolving brush Royals are post-war models, being the 153, 189, and 215. However, John, who goes by "ornery" on here, has posted pics of a model 131 that I believe is a pre-war machine on another thread.

I've seen that 131, it's beautiful. Sure wish I could find something of that vintage.

Wow I would buy that in a heartbeat, That's so cheap, Just a pity it would cost me so much to get it here to South Africa, If something like that showed up here the seller would be asking at least $ 100.00 - $ 200.00 for it.

YOU guys are so lucky to get stuff that well priced.
