Good day:) Quick question. Made the switch to older, more powerful vacuums and am very happy with the improved performance! Just picked up a Royal metal upright, model 1050, that has a rubber flap instead of an adjust o rite button. Just wonder if they can be switched out. Thanks. Kev

Is It Worth It?

You can easily, but it will leave a 1/8-3/16" hole in the bell housing. After you're done it won't tell you anything you don't already know by ear. When the brush starts flicking the carpet, you're there. Almost as gimmicky as the brush speed indicator light. I mean, how could you NOT know if the brush roller is spinning?

Now, a headlight would be a worthwhile addition, but there's no easy way to retrofit a hood assembly. The fan housing is different. I did MacGyver a flashlight on one once, which worked great, but it looked BAD! Maybe you can get it done more elegantly.
