The New Aerus

Good Morning Brad,

Did you try out the new Legacy? I understand that Aerus has made improvements with sound insulation to make it quieter. Is it quiet?

The Platinum is a fantastic vacuum. I only wish Aerus would go back to pistol grip handle, or at least offer that option, and put the attachments back on the vacuum body where they belong.

Look forward to your comments on the Legacy.

Richard

The New Aerus

Brad,
Thanks for posting the pictures. I see you are cleaning "the Electrolux way" with the flip over rug tool.
I have the same questions as Richard. Interested in if they have made the Legacy quiet compared to our 2100. Also hope they have toned down the sound of the power nozzle. I find myself using the flip over rug tool just to avoid the high pitch sound of the power nozzle on our machine.
I like the look of the Legacy and Classic more than the shape of the Platinum but realize the improvements will be in the Platinum machine.
Great pictures!
Rob

Hmm, they still have the flip-over tool. I thought that was long gone; good to see it isn't! I like the new color scheme, too. Might well have to look into getting one of these some day...

I made and posted

A short video of the Lux Legacy in action on my FB page.

Is the Classic style (old style metal wands & pistol grip) CentraLux kit still available?  Does Lux still make the headlight equipped PN for the old style metal wands?

Lux Legacy

Good Evening Brad,

Could you please send me the link to your video on Facebook? I cannot seem to find it.

The Legacy in black is a stunning vacuum. So is the person using it.

I think the new colors really make an improvement on the Legacy. It seems to look quite modern with that new hose. Am I the only one that loves these hoses? That black and silver checkerboard pattern really looks futuristic. I guess I am strange, I would much prefer that hose over ANY of the braided ones.

I like the hose as well - not only the colour but how it is so much more flexible than the braided hoses.

Facebook Video/Legacy

Hi Brad,

Can you throw up a link for the video so everyone can see the new black original Lux canisters?

The Tank..

Looks great, But they need to go back to metal wands and the old style hose handle, that plastic stuff is clunky and terribly awkward for anything but floor cleaning!

Oh yes... I like. More powerful and quieter. You can clearly tell the power nozzle is much quieter. The sounds are more muffled than before. Does anyone know if the brushes on the bare floor nozzle are horsehair? They sure don't match the dusting brush like they used to... On all the videos I've seen the floor nozzles are different. Anyone who owns one know?

Question, Brad, since it appears you are a dealer: is it possible to buy the flip-over floor/rug tool separately?

I'm in the market for a new Aerus 90th AE Legacy, but I'm bummed out to see that only the Guardian Platinum comes with the flip-over tool. Any advice would be appreciated (and would make me seem more informed when I visit my local dealer). Thanks! And thanks for posting these pics/videos... seeing the new anniversary versions of the classic canister further encourages me that now is the time to supplement my Diamond Jubilee with a new model.

Last question, since it hasn't been answered in another thread: should most dealers have the new black canisters in stock, or is it possible that the old white versions are still in most showrooms?

Dave,
I had no trouble at all getting a flip floor brush from my dealer for my legacy. The legacy is the the same wand size as the centra lux which comes with the flip floor brush. The flip floor brush to me work better on really short pile rugs, like my Persian rugs than the power nozzle

My dealer has the new. Lack in stock. If you want his name , phone number and email. Pm me. His prices are great
Mike

Mike--I'll PM you today. I ordered a new flip floor brush from my local dealer, but it came in white. So disappointed. I was in a hurry and had already paid for it, so I just took it, but I wanted black. I called Aerus's customer service when I got home hoping to just order straight from the HQ, but they said they're out of stock--which might explain why I was given a white one.
