Here's the Packard from my Tennessee Haul that I finally got around to restoring! The metal has been polished, bag cleaned out, and the rotten cord removed and thrown away. Funny thing about the motor is that it will not come apart. The fan has a set screw in the side of it, I removed it but that fan wont budge for the life of me! Anyway, I need suggestions for a replacement cord. Im very partial to replacing my much older machines with cloth covered cords for that ultra vintage look. So, I need suggestions for what color of cord would look best for this beauty. Gold, Brown, Black?

Depends Who You're Restoring It For

If you're going to sell it, I'd try and duplicate the original cord and plug as much as possible, color, gage and "texture". A vintage plug would be a must. If it's for yourself, anything goes, but personally, I'd still want it to appear original.

I dont plan on reselling it, im just restoring for me. Ive used Sundial Wire for all kinds of things, Im just stuck on color! The cord that was on it was black rubber. I just can settle on a color of cord, I know I dont want black.

Nice vintage cleaner, also a very nice quarter sawn oak floor from around 90 years ago?
