I guess I'll show you what it is now!!! This beauty arrived on Tuesday night!!! It is a Thank You gift from our very own Roger Brown!! I assisted Roger in advice online with repairing his Hoover Windtunnel Self Propelled upright. In doing so he felt the urge to thank me for the assistance with this. I had spotted it days prior on eBay and along with other ebay postings by other members and general vac chat on an FB page he decided to purchase this as a heartfelt gesture!! My brain is numb from the extraordinary kind giving of this PowerMax by Roger in addition to previously gifted machines to me by Mark Amico, John Long and Bill Wood!!

Many of you are aware of my passion for the Hoover PowerMax series canisters!!! This machine is what created that passion. My family purchased this model machine on 9/26/97, 2 days following my 15th Birtday. They also purchased a Sony Discman portable CD player as my birthday present!---I also considered the Hoover a birthday gift!! It marks my first experience in trying a machine of this series!!

9.8 Amp motor compared to most other manufacturers 12 Amp canister vac systems. This machine was second from TOL at the top with the Hoover PowerMax Supreme green Emerald Green S3611 with variable speed on hose handle being the TOL model. The Hoover TurboPower 6000 S3613 was the 2 year warranted Black with Gold trim series Turbo Power model of the PowerMax in this photo.

This PowerMax also sports the original Hoover brush roll prior to Hoover converting over to a universal brush roll to fit all of their 12" flat belt vacuums at the time. Later they switched to a brush roll with spacing for rug guards found in Elite style uprights.

Best of all the machine sports a gorgeous navy blue color which I love navy blues!!

You're too kind. Did Greg mention, I'm shorter than most people expect? Am I what YOU expected? CAreful how you answer that! I'll send you down into one of the basements here.......... where the bodies were.. parts of some are mostlikely still there.

Oh, John, you flirt!!!

Now, you know I already know how tall you are. As has been stated many times, some guys put all their energy into growing tall while others put all their energy into growing....well, you know what I mean! The basements? Kinky. Is it true that Las Vegas took your motto for their own? The "What happens here stays here"?

Tell your girlfriend to spray the label with some aerosol hairspray & rub lightly. Hairspray will in most cases remove permanent marker, but it MUST be the aerosol kind!! Hairspray sold in pump bottles will not work! Hopefully if she doesn't rub too hard, there will be enough lettering left to make out the model #.

even better-

Buy a Mr.Clean Magic Eraser (or even the cheap dollar store brand). Gently clean the marker off with it. These Erasers are the best for removing permanent marker, scruff marks, paint marks, etc!wink

Sorry it took so long to reply but after my 2nd to last post we went on vacation, and unfortunately while we were gone a pipe burst off the washing machine and flooded our basement where it was located. When we had gotten home we had 4 inches of water so the machined was about an inch submerged as it was on a shelf 3 inches off the ground. But anyway the sticker had peeled off and that is why I need to know so I can order new parts.

That's packed really well! If you'd have bought that from eBay from a stranger it would have been chucked in an empty box inside a binbag and smashed!

Looks lovely!

The model for this particular machine was S3603-040.

PowerMax models had several model numbers: S3601, S3603, S3607, S3613, S3614.... The lasts ones made were the PowerMax Deluxe S3606 in a different shade of navy blue with a translucent bag lid, and the Turbo Power 5000 S3612-- different style design to the previous Turbo Power 5000 which was S3577.

BEBO1987-- I couldn't disagree with you more!! Sounds like you found a poor seller on eBay that hopefully you gave a poor feedback response to. I have been a shopper on eBay for over 14 years. I know this because in 2002 when I lived in my fraternity house I bought a refurbished Hoover PowerMax Deluxe canister S3607 from ABCVacuumwarehouse on eBay. I also bought a lawn mower and a commercial duty mop bucket that same year.

In my over 14 years of making SEVERAL purchases on eBay to include numerous vacuum cleaners, posters, lawn mower, vacuum bags, hedge trimmer etc. I have only had 1 bad experience. It was a Riccar 1800 canister. It was packaged good for the most part but wasn't in the same condition as was advertised. Paypal backed me up and I got a full refund!!

hair spray, floods.

I think Lysol spray also removes marker and ink. At least off of skin it does.
As most insurance agents will tell you, when going away for extended days, close the water shut off's to the washer, dishwasher, and even refrigerator.
Now they make a flood safe braided stainless hose for dishwashers. If a leak occurs, a valve at the start of the hose closes under sudden pressure.
