. The following was published in the October 1959 issue of "Electrolux Magazine" from the U.K., as part of a page of testimonials by Electrolux users entitled "The Nice Things They Say." I have never seen nor heard of a Model 4 (or, one presumes, Model IV) -- but there it is, clearly different from the Model V. It's a simpler machine with no shoulder strap.

. Just for the sake of comparison, here's a Model V set up in the same configuration as the (purported) Model 4 above. First of all, the front cover is not as "pointy" as the V but is more rounded off. Then, all the Model Vs I've seen have had the little eyelet-thingies for attaching a strap, and this one does not appear to have them. I have what I think is the earliest version of the V, with detachable runners and even that one has the strap. Finally, it's hard to tell, but the motor end doesn't look the same -- it appears to have sort of like a narrow concentric "bulge" around the motor housing. (I do wonder if the lady vacuumed her entire rugs with the upholstery nozzle!!)

Can I ask please, what was the source of the extract you posted above. Is this a magazine you yourself possess or was it something you found on line? In all my many years of collecting I have only seen one of these magazines - actually just a few months later - and it would be great to see some more if they are around

that very .........model X was located just about 15 miles away from where I live, mine is mint compared to that one! I have around 10 , 'Electrolux News' (Luton) mags all bought from the same seller was the niece of a one time lux rep. | ||
