I bought this Lux today and it paid 10 euros. But look what I found inside!!!! Someone had used this vacuum without dustbag but fortunately there was a hepabox inside=) After cleaning it works fine again=) And yes I throw away this Hepa-box too.

Some day I am just thinking to quit this hobby and today it was quite close=)

I hate mice!

 Actually I bought this vacuum because the hose looked almost brand new and I need this short cord from motorbrush to my Lux 1. I opened vacuum on store but I didn´t realise there was dead mouse inside. I was nearly sure that the motor is dead but suprise it runs very well after cleaning the filters.

I have a similar story but without a mouse! I got a D790 for free. The woman who gave the vacuum cleaner away for free had payed 100 euros for it and it originally belonged to an older man. She gave the machine away because it broke very soon after she had bought it. The original owner had also replaced the original hose with a lower quality aftermarket one that had ripped and was fixed with duct tape. So what was wrong with the machine besides of the ripped hose? It didn't suck at all and the reason was quite obvious: the dustbag was full of cat litter... And also the hose and even the nozzle was completely blocked.... She had cats and had vacuumed a lot of wet cat litter! And after the litter had dried it became like concrete. It took me A LOT of time to clean all out and the nozzle had to be taken apart completely. I was also surprised that the motor ran just fine after all it had gone through!

it looks like that mouse found some tasty treats sitting in there, and crawled in through the hose port, then couldn't get back out again.

Mice tend to go places like this. In one D790 a mouse had made a visit and had chew a hole through the dustbag and even taken a bite of the HEPA filter! This one had found its way out though and couldn't be found dead inside the vacuum.

In the Markus's case the dustbag was missing and the vacuum cleaner was probably stored at upright position. Mice can't climb a smooth plastic surface so it was trapped. A common way to trap mice alive is to use a plastic bucket with a bait - they can't climb out because of the smoothness of the plastic.
