I would like to sell our family's 1956 GE turquoise canister roll easy vacuum. We bought it new in 1956. The motor works just fine, and i have lots of attachments. I am trying to downsize, and would like for it to go to someone who appreciates these vintage vacuums.

For the record, when Sylvia (who is a very nice lady btw) first contacted me about her Roll-Easy, I gave her my usual run about the value of old vacs (to a certain someone's consternation to be sure), and also did suggest to her that she list it on eBay to get the maxiumum exposure for it. But she said she did not want to bother with that. She'd rather just sell it straight out to someone.

Well, Ian, would you be willing to pay that much for it? It not, then your estimate doesn't really hold much water!

(Or are you just being flippant?)

The nice lady did post a serious query here; it would be unfortunate and unfair to get her hopes up unreasonably.

HAS anyone ever seen a Roll-Easy go for a thousand dollars? Especially one lacking the original hose and that has a good share of "dings and dangs?"

Sylvia has posted a serious thread here...please, there is no reason to bring your own problems to the table. If your not interested in this vacuum, please just move on.

We have had this discussion many times, this is now an open forum and Sylvia has a vacuum that she wants to see someone who has a true interest in collecting receive...it is that simple. Now there have been some serious replies...let's all behaive and let her sell her vacuum.

Now on to happy vacuuming and Slyvia I wish you the best in selling your vacuum. I only hope it finds a good home.

Your President.

Morgan

Hi! Just wondering about the status of the Roll-Easy for sale. I haven't gotten an e-mail from the seller so that I could ask her a question and make an offer. Let me know. Later, Trg
