Gizmodo is a well respected tech site.

Steve Jobs even used to read it...

Gizmodo kinda stinks like that - use Adblock Plus aggressively.

That aside, I kinda like the look of the Dyson handhelds. The upright, OTOH - call me when it gets the sand and grit out as well as a Riccar or a Kirby. They *do* get up the kitty fuzz fairly well, but the agitation needed to get deep-down ick is sorely lacking, unless they've improved things a lot.

I give that little washable filter on the handhelds 2 weeks before it's clogged to sh*t. The sponge filter on my DC16 is always covered in rubbish!

I bet those no tangle turbobrushes are great too, right up until it snaps a tooth on a cog due to picking up a small stone or just fatigue...

They look cool

I like the look of them but what i've heard from local vac shop owners involving their durability as well as seeing a few on ebay where the ball halves had broken off keep me from looking for one.

I have not had good cleaning results with that newer style DC41 upright which goes on sale often at stores for $600. Some of their other uprights aren't as bad. Still not favorites of mine. I like seeing the Youtube videos where the Tacony Tandem Airs or Miele S7 blow away their agitation!!
