I have blown out 2 new belts on my Convertible.I have to set it at the lowest setting or it doesn't seem to groom my short pile carpet. What am I doing wrong? |

Convertibles usually need to be set to "low" for best results on a low pile carpet. |

I thought I was the only one with this issue! I had a newer (since sold) Hoover Guardsman and it constantly snapped belts on thicker carpeting. I was using generic and, thinking that was the issue, I immediately switched to genuine. Same problem! I had never had this happen before and I've never had it happen again so I'm assuming it was a bad batch or something.

I bought these at a vac store where they all just hang on a hook, so I suppose they must be generic. I think I will order some online from Hoover. Thanks for the tips. Dave, you really keep your belts in the fridge next to your carrots? |

On another belt note? I know my local vac shop leans Hoover, and they have genuine Hoover belts that I get for my Decade, but pretty sure the Eureka belts are generic, they do sometimes break. SO, even he said the slightly stretched used Hoover belts work great on that Eureka, so that is what I do. Bad idea? Voodoo??
