Hi everyone! So I got my Kenmore upright today, and I thought I would give my honest opinions on it.

First of all, I asked for this machine for Christmas because I help my Grandmum clean her house, and her Rainbow is kind of a pain to set up every time we have to vacuum. I also bring my own vacuum, and my Dirt Devil Quick Lite is on its last breath (the bin release catch broke so every time I pick it up the bin falls off), so I was in need of a new, lightweight vacuum that I could easily throw in the back of my car for cleaning day.

This vacuum is awesome! It is very lightweight, and it has five height adjustments, which will clean the carpets better than the Oreck or Dirt Devil that I've been using. It has basic attachments, a dusting brush with stiff nylon bristles, a crevice tool, and extension wand. The plus, though, is that the hose end is a standard size, so I can use the attachments off of her Rainbow instead of the ones that came with it. The stiff brush will be great, however, for cleaning car mats and the basement stairs. It isn't very loud, about as loud as my Kirby, so it isn't ear-piercing and hard to use because of that, like the Oreck. It grooms the carpet very well, and I feel like it is actually deep-cleaning the carpet. There is nothing worse than vacuuming and then finding hair and fuzz all over the floor. That is what was happening with the Dirt Devil. I would have to vacuum the carpets and floors with the Oreck then do all the above the floor cleaning and corners with the Dirt Devil. Big pain in the ass, if you ask me. The Kenmore eliminates all of that!

There are a few downfalls, however, like any vacuum. The construction is a tad cheap. The plastic feels thin, and the handle, although metal, wiggles slightly in the plastic casing around it. It doesn't lay flat to the floor, but I don't have anything that requires that. The plastic attracts dust and hair, and some dust gets in between the hose and the plastic connector going to the floor, so when you pull the hose out a little dust clump comes out too. But those are just nit-picky things that I thought would be worth mentioning.

The one really strange thing, however, is it takes Kenmore Type L Canister Vacuum bags, instead of upright vacuum bags. Thank God my mom got me two packs of bags to go with it.

All in all, I think that this is probably the best budget upright vacuum. Compared to other vacuums at the price point ($59.00), it leaves all the others in the dust.

Well, I hope this helps! I definitely recommend this vacuum cleaner to everyone!

I'm glad you like it! I have the slightly higher end version and I really like it too! I agree with most of your points as well.

I was also confused about the bags as they say canister bags, which is why I have not yet bought any bags for mine yet, but now I will.

i know this thread is from 2013 but i was wondering if you were able to find any belts for this vacuum? i assume its this one you bought?

www.kenmore.com/kenmore-upright-v...

after pulling my hair out trying to find bags for it, i did an online chat with a kenmore rep and they couldn't find a belt for it, they said it was not a servicable vacuum.... really??
the part numbers in the owners manual matches with nothing, then on further digging i found out its the Canadian model because the first 3 numbers in the model are 115
but anyhow back to the original question if this is the one you got, were you able to find replacement belts for it?
