I went the the thrift store today and found quite a few items!

First, I found two Sentria attachment kits. One was in the box, and the other had no price tag on it. I think it was attached to a Kirby, but someone pulled the set off (it was taped) and took the Kirby without the attachments. (I wish I went yesterday.)

Then, I found a Classic III box with all the attachments except the hose and wands. I found the hose, but it was in disrepair and I didn't feel like messing with it.

I didn't buy it, but I found a Kirby Omega box with the Rug Renovator and attachment box (like the Classic III one.) I don't own an Omega and the floor polisher was pretty rusted. I didn't want to see the rest after that.

Still, two Sentria sets for $20 and a Classic III set for $9. Can't beat that.

Oh. I never posted about it, but I found a Sentria II kit with most of the attachments and the hose for $8 a few weeks ago along with the Tradition "plastic" box of tools for $7... I'm starting to have more attachments then I know what to do with.

Here's what was in the Tradition tool kit. I don't own a tradition, but I would love to.

I've got two of them! The Classic III and my Sentria. (My sentria is pretty heavily abused... not by me though.)

One of my first vacuums was a Hoover 541 with the attachments and it also came with a set for the Hoover 28. I eventually found a 28 at a thrift store and made mom buy it. I think I was about 9 at the time? It was vey early on in my collecting but I do still have it.

I wouldn't have almost any of the vacuums I have today if it weren't for the thrift stores around here.

Why, all but three came from thrift stores and even then, two of them were pretty much robberies...

Well I have no idea what part of the state you're in but Denver and the surrounding areas have been very good for me. The majority of my collection has come from here.

I'm in the Arvada/Boulder area. The places around here are great.

I remember when we lived in Arvada when I was younger. All the thrift stores were filled with old vacuums and there were more than I could ever really expect to keep. But it seems it's dried up compared to what it is now. Very sad! Good finds are still there/here tho.

It's been pretty decent. In the past 6 months I've gotten a couple of machines.

$25 - Kirby G3 with attachments
$15 - Dyson DC07 Animal
$7 - Eureka Self Propelled Vacuum
$40 (I overpaid... oh well) - Kirby Classic III
$8 - Kirby Heritage
$15 - Electrolux canister that I cannot remember the model number of

And I've seen several machines:

Kirby Omega - Didn't buy because Goodwill wanted $100 for it
Kirby G4 - The thrift store wouldn't sell it to me for some reason
Kirby Classic III - Already had one
Kirby G3 - Tech Drive messed up
A few Electroluxes - Not into them
Royal 880 - disliked the look
Two DC14's - $120 each

uh... That's all I remember. You have your plethora of cheapo plastic vacs too.

The cheapo vacs dominate the scene sadly. I get enough of those things at work all day to want anything to do with them in my free time! Lol. I work in a vacuum store down in SE Denver (Monaco and Evans) if you're ever down here you should stop by. Except Mondays, those are my day off...
