Oh no that's a shame YouTube will be a poorer place without his videos, his mix of humor, knowledge and great camera work was hard to beat.

I have no idea where Rodgers videos have gone, but I do know what's happened to Roger's videos.

I accidentally trashed my Macbook recently and as I couldn't afford a new one, I am using my ipad which means I won't be uploading anything as I can't connect my camcorder to the ipad. I decided to remove the videos after one nasty comment from a viewer which was the last straw for me. The videos are still there at the moment, but only viewable by me at this time and I will probably delete the channel in the new year unless I have a change of mind which is unlikely.

I enjoyed making the videos at the time, but I realised that my channel was fanning the flames of an obsession that I knew was becoming out of control again and I was buying more cleaners just so I could unbox and review them on Youtube. I knew I had a problem when despite having to have my beloved 4 year old dachshund Rupert put to sleep, I still managed to record an unboxing video the day after he died. That video has been deleted now as it holds very bad memories for me. I am still grieving for Rupie, even though we lost him nearly 9 months ago.

With the loss of a special dog and my Mum turning 70 this year, I started to think about the important things in life and finally realised that happiness does not come from collecting vacuum cleaners or amassing a collection of anything. I know most of you get great pleasure from your collections, even when they take over a lot of space in your houses, but I know from personal experience how much of a burden possessions are and how much better I have felt as each vacuum cleaner left my house to go to a new owner. I still have a fair few to sell as well as many other items I have collected over the years, but I have started the ball rolling and I won't stop until I have purged my life of all the material goods I don't love, need or use. I will always have more vacuum cleaners than the average person, but the handful I keep will be models I actually use and not cleaners that are stored away that I don't see for months or years.

Thanks to the people that enjoyed my channel and made nice comments. I haven't been able to respond to a few comments directly on my channel for some reason, so I thought I would respond here as I know most of you are on Vacuumland. Enjoy your collections but don't let them take over your life.

Goodbye.

Roger (ibaisaic)

OH Roger I am so saddened to hear your news! Your videos are a touchstone and I'll miss your humour. You should reinstate them but do as I do and either have comments Approved or disabled completely. Sorry to read all your news. I hope you can manage to have a good Christmas.

Yes I do know the grief of loosing a dog as my dog jasper died when I was 7 still feel very saddened talking about him, your video's are amazing I truly loved your sebo D4 video, I think you should re-upload them but as sebo_fan stated have comments disabled, Ive had death threats over youtube before but #yolo those people have no impact on my life, Im never going meet those people, at least everyone loves you on vacuumland, that couldn't quite be said for me.

I am sorry to hear the sad news and I hope things work out well for you.

I agree with Ryan, you should return the videos but disable comments, as the saying goes one bad apple spoils the bunch!

I hope this isn't the end of you in this lovey world we call the internet, your videos, personality and humour will be sincerely missed!

All the best and I wish you a Merry Christmas and a happy new year.

Alex.

Roger, I watched on of your videos a few weeks ago and only realized it was you because of your previous name on Vacuumland.... I thought it was exceptional quality...

However, it sounds like you've thought long and hard and made some decisions that are for your own good.... begging you to put your videos back on would be selfish so I won't do that... Instead, I'll tell you that I support you doing whatever it is you need to do to attain and maintain your own happiness and sanity....

Bobby

I am sorry that Roger has decided to withdraw his vac videos, which were very interesting and I will miss his friendly face on YouTube. I guess he has his reasons for what has happened, and indeed he will be missed.

Roger has had to do what he feels best for him and his family, and he does not deserve to get abused by selfish and nasty people on YouTube.

We must respect his decision and that Roger has decided to move forward in life - a move which wont include vacuum cleaners. It takes a lot of guts to confront what he felt as a problem for him and I respect him for that.

Goodbye Roger and all the best for the future.

Roger- you're videos were incredibly entertaining and humorous- and your number of subscribers has tripled in the past few months!

Roger, I understand your decision fully and respect it. I just want to thank you one last time for those videos, for a time they were a bright spot in my life and I looked forward to watching them every time you uploaded something new. You have a great personality and you will be missed.

Roger I have subscribed but I have respected your choice, you have helped me to purchase a new vacuum & make decisions to others. I will be saddened but you have your own life & the loss of a dog is a terrible thing to bear.

I hope you manage to get on with your life & have a good Christmas :)
