Is there any possible way to make an original cloth hose for a vacuum cleaner pliable again without damaging it?

"Restoring cloth hoses"

Electrolux137 posted a detailed thread about this... It's in the archive, Thread#22656, started 10/17/2013. I assume that you would have to break up the original, stiff lining in order to do this. As far as I know, there is no way to restore rubber which has gone 'stiff' or 'sticky' (opposite ends of the 'failure' scale). If anyone HAS got any ideas on this, I'd love to hear about it...

All best
