All hail Electrolux for probably being the first to release something less than 1000 watts...

Trouble is, it is available in the French market only.. for the time being. AEG in the UK may well follow soon.

Here is the Ultra One Green close up, similar to what I posted before from the IFA 2013 before on here.

As always Ry, thanks for being so on the ball and spotting these. Very similar to the current UK AEG range's but obviously with the lower motor wattages. Hopefully, this is the start of things to come.

I'd also like to see the return of the Electrolux brand new to the UK market. It seems to be mostly AEG and Zanussi at the moment. My local Curry's aren't stocking any Electrolux branded cleaners. Lets hope for a return of high quality Electrolux products.

Well they did send me an email saying that there would be no more Electrolux branded vacs in the UK. Maybe they will change their mind.

My local Curry's aren't stocking

Currys don't seem to have very much at all in stock these days. The range of uprights is dire, and apart from the Purepower that is not kept in stock at any branches, they have no other bagged uprights to choose from now that they have ditched Sebo. Currys has gone right downhill.

From what I've read, the ultra one range have not been very reliable, especially those with the controls on the handles - they fail and the vacs keep switching themselves off for no reason.

Lets hope that they improve reliability.

Currys has gone right downhill.

Not quite. It is the electrical appliance retail industry which has changed, though I wouldn't say "downhill" so much as turned on it's head.

I can appreciate your frustration, madabouthoovers, as things are so very different now, however we must observe that in the face of mass competition like there has never been before, Currys has managed to stay afloat, seeing off their direct rival even; Comet.

This hasn't been achieved by offering a reduced service, out of stock items, and minimal ranges as a matter of sloppiness, it will undoubtedly have been part of a much bigger plan. Currys is no small retailer and to come from where it was to where it is & still be turning a profit does not happen without precise attention to detail.

In effect, one could say that the seemingly poor service and ranges on offer is what has kept the company very much in business. Take the fact you mention they are no longer stocking Sebo. That wouldn't happen if there was a demand for that brand. Clearly Currys customers were not requiring it.

Electrolux UK have not had vacuum cleaner on their website for a couple of months now. The BOL vacuums are now badged Zanussi and on their website.

Yes Paul but Zanussi haven't listed any of the "new 2013" range for several months either. A post that I created indicated this already when they can all be found on Amazon UK. I sent an email of concern to Electrolux and Zanussi but they said that Zanussi will soon show what they have, Electrolux also admitted that they will no longer be badging any of their floorcare with "Electrolux," with the budget line going to Zanussi and TOL to AEG.
